So this is my temporary spot until i get a “s-video to vga solution (all so far no joy)” and retro tink joust to damn expensiv hence the 37 inch plasma abomination at least the signal is stable clean ands crisp, but you know what i mean nothing beats the cathode ray’s they fast as hell :slight_smile: .

Here is the S-Video setup I use with my Commodore 64. My original cable came from an eBay seller in Europe, but that seller no longer appears to be active. Fortunately, several suitable C64 S-Video cables are now available online with a quick search

For the display, I use older Dell monitors with built-in S-Video inputs. I acquired mine during an office equipment upgrade several years ago. These monitors still appear on eBay, often priced at $50 or more.

For a less expensive option, check thrift stores, secondhand electronics shops, office surplus outlets, and local classified listings. In my experience, these are often the best places to find an older S-Video-compatible monitor at a reasonable price. I’m talking like $7 to $10 when I grabbed a couple several years ago.

Here’s a great example. It costs too much, but it will give you an idea of what to look out for if you go this route.
