Latest from Nuke: upcoming 8.1b build

I’ve been working exhaustively on a 8.1b version of Color 64. This is going to have some cool things incorporated:

  • A programmer’s reference guide with a breakdown of the Color 64 ML routines. A first!
  • Two needed corrections within the Color 64 ML routines that have existed since 8.1 beta was released.
  • A massive code cleanup to reduce overall footprint. This will be tightened-down basic code that invokes many of the features that were present in the 8.1 ML - but were not used
  • Updated Sysop’s manual - with all latest and greatest findings from the exhaustive code research

Expect we are still a few months away since the code cleanup is dealing with thousands of lines of code between all the overlays - but with the Programmer’s Reference Guide nearly done, I’m getting very excited.

By the time this effort is complete, Color 64 will be one of the heaviest documented C64 BBSes out there.

I’ll post updates as I progress… but here is a peek at programmer’s reference guide…
