I was just wondering what the dates were going to be for next year.
I’ll probably be skipping Friday and probably just do Sat on the 2026 one.
looking at a room for friday night and going early saturday. i think i will take advantage of their block. even if traffic sucks and i get there later than i want friday i think i’d rather wake up 15 mins away than 2 hours. i want to see what the consignment is like at the opening!
guys i got a room at the Wyndham Suites TInton Falls NJ Fri Night through their block. i will stock up on beers just in case!
Getting ready to get a room and tickets. I’ve been holding off waiting for DF to make up his mind and he just bailed… I’m feeling way behind this year already.
I’m thinking i’m going to come up on Friday like last year, stay Friday night and Saturday night… but I’m not going to get Friday tickets… Def Sat (obviously) and maybe Sunday… If I go to the show on Sunday I may stay an extra night and drive back Monday.
Is anyone else planning to go the entire weekend?
I’m just planning to be there Saturday (arrive Fri night)
I may extend now. Theres a good chance I will be scheduled to work in Mooretown, NJ 21-23 April so… just might as well stay!
I’m staying at the Residence Inn Neptune at Gateway Centre again this year. They have a great suite and it’s really close to the event. I’ve booked for 3 nights.
I just noticed the event tickets are like $10 more expensive than last year. I’m going to get tix for Sat and Sun
I’d like to do some more interviews this year. My original plan before DF changed his mind was to setup the and do a podcast from the suite and have you all come over. I can do a whole Johnny Carson from there. It’s quieter and I have a pro setup now. (Yes I know I need to get our interview up from last year. Maybe this weekend). Any thoughts or opinions?

i am just staying friday night and then going saturday and driving home after on saturday. hopefully traffic won’t be a nightmare that friday, i will drive right down from work in westchester ny but even if i get on the road early like 4-415, i still have to get through the NYC area. I was hoping that all the commuters are going north to CT and not south but many people commute to the city from Jersey too so its anyones guess but i hope to be at the hotel by 630 the friday night. since its a block i imagine there will be others there for the event that i may meet that night which i thought would be fun. i would definitely be down to being part of another interview. i imagine on the saturday i dont need to be at the thing the whole day, i will prob go for the first 4-5 hrs and that should be enough. when were you thinking of doing that podcast? Also are ticket sales open now? i didn’t see any ticket purchase links when i bought my hotel block. i will go check again. i am also going to check to see vendors kist (thanks Nuke!) to see if anyone like TFW8B or someone else who sells an SD2iec will be selling any there as i need a new one and no one in europe where most are being made are shipping to the usa right now… i like the johnny carson setup idea.
i dont have any plans the next day so if a room was cheap and i wanted to stay another day i definitely can extend but i will decide then or closer to the date. It is my brother (he came with me last year) ‘s birthday on the Saturday so im feeling like i need to at least be back late Sunday afternoon for dinner with the fam.
Another idea that’s been floated a few months ago was a sysop’s dinner one of the evenings. Do we know of any other sysops planning to go to the show this year?

Isn’t TFW8B a European company? I don’t think they’ll be there. It shouldn’t be hard to get a SD2IEC though. They’re pretty common.

Not aware of any.
I’m still undecided on how I will schedule this out… it would be at least Saturday.

VCF East is a premier vintage computing festival featuring exhibits, workshops and talks celebrating the history and preservation of classic computers.
i’d stay another night if that sysop dinner was happening Sat night. i could hopefully be there in time for same type of thing on friday night if it was then. i am not sure if i stayed a second night i would also go to the event sunday at that cost - i would probably just get on the road in the morning. or come by to be part of your taping if it was early enough on sunday, then go home. lets post on the other BBS’s around the region and see who’s going. i did post on mine but i will hit a few more this weekend! honestly at this point i think its my 64 causing my issues. i never have these issues on the 128 no matter what SD2iec i use, so i moved it back to the 128 again as its been pretty unstable. but i would still like a new one for my 128 that’s not taped together
yeah TFW8B is UK but i thought maybe some of these bigger companies might send someone. prob a long shot, true. i will see what’s available. do you guys know if Bill Pelton can fix monitors, or anyone who does? i have my old 128 monitor from my childhood, i’d love to get it working again.
Havok i’d love to see that interview from last year too! ![]()
Do we know anyone else coming to the VCF E this year?
I was going to ask about dinner. I dunno if it would be better Friday night or Saturday night considering we may be wiped out Sat evening after being on our feet all day. I haven’t figured out when I want to do the podcast yet either. Plan’s are still scrabble a bit with DF not coming to the show.
I’ve have some friends from the area there who recommended a place called Vic’s Italian Restaurant last year. I didn’t make it… but thought it might be good place for everyone to get together. It’s not to far from the museum.
